We strive to promote the craft culture in fresh ingredient foods, artisanal cocktails, and small-batch beer/wine. Conveniently located in Scottsdale within the ASU SkySong Campus.
Erika Rode – Owner
During Erika’s leadership career in the liquor industry, she found a true passion and appreciation for craft wine, beer, and spirits. Not only does she love the boutique styles and art-form behind these amazing small productions, but is genuinely moved by the stories behind each brand. “You appreciate that sip much more when you know the story, effort, and art behind the bottle.” From small family wineries, to craft brews started in a garage, to the local farms that help supply fresh ingredients…this is the reason behind Erika’s desire to create Bitters! After 15 years in the Service Industry, she is a firm believer in the fact that it is truly the art of “People Business” in all forms from the team member to the customer. She looks forward to promoting small business, the people, and the Craft culture through Bitters -a place to relax, enjoy great food and drinks, and to build community. A community she knows very well, as she was born and raised right here in Arizona.
Ehren Litzenberger – Executive Chef
For Executive Chef, Ehren Litzenberger, it’s always about the roots! Grown in the culinary soil of California’s artisanal gardens and raised on local cuisine, Litzenberger has a passion for innovating locally sourced cuisine with a regional focus. Ehren joins the team with a rich culinary background beginning at the California Culinary Academy. His strong roots have been transplanted to Arizona and now take hold in the soil of south Scottsdale’s culinary scene. Ehren is incredibly pleased to bring his passion to Bitters, the newest addition to the craft culture and gourmet food landscape. The small plate menu will be driven by Arizona roots; in fact, Litzenberger will source weekly and seasonal delights for Bitters’ guests right from the onsite garden. Chef Litzenberger is eager to use Bitters as a family table for gathering both Tempe and Scottsdale community members; he is passionate about the growth of his newest root.
