Two new restaurants are opening at a new development that is part of the SkySong development in south Scottsdale.
Bitters, a craft cocktail bar and restaurant, and New York Bagels ‘N Bialys are opening at the $5 million restaurant development built at SkySong by infill developer Wetta Ventures.
SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center is located at McDowell and Scottsdale roads. It has office buildings and apartments and is home tech companies as well as Arizona State University programs.
The New York Bagels restaurant totals 3,213 square feet. It also has a bar and will be open for breakfast and lunch. It also has locations in Tempe and another in Scottsdale near Shea Boulevard and Scottsdale Road.
Bitters is opening in August and is taking 2,693 square feet.
It is being opened by Scottsdale entrepreneur Erika Rode and chef Ehren Litzenberger, who was previously with BLD in Chandler.
Bitters will feature small plate and seasonal fare as well as specialty cocktails and a large wine and beer list.
“Our vision for SkySong and south Scottsdale’s food and beverage amenity is in full bloom and we’re excited to welcome these new restaurants,” said David Wetta, founder of Wetta Ventures. “With the South Scottsdale and McDowell corridor in transition right now, the neighborhood is a significant one to watch for new development. We’re honored to be part of the changing landscape.”
The 12,000-square-foot restaurant development also has a 3,000-square-foot garden.
Sharon Harper, President & CEO of Plaza Companies, the master developer of the 42-acre SkySong project, said the restaurants add to the ASU development’s mix.
“The restaurant building itself is a stunning structure that is very much in character with the overall design and focus on innovation at SkySong,” Harper said. “It is great to see two new, very unique restaurants move into this beautiful new building and become part of the SkySong family.”
