When Erika Rode decided to return to her home state of Arizona she seized the opportunity to combine her wealth of experience working in the alcohol industry with the local dining movement underway here in Arizona. The result was Bitters, the bar and restaurant Rode opened with executive chef Ehren Litzenberger in September. The concept for Bitters was founded on Rode’s passion for craft beer, wine and spirits. The drink menu includes artisanal cocktails like The Bitter End, a rum and fruit based drink that uses locally made Más Mole Bitters from AZ Bitters Lab. They also have 12 craft beers on tap and a rotating wine list, with Arizona breweries and wineries always well represented.
